Engaging a development team for a large utilities retailer

A major energy retailer was planning a mission-critical systems upgrade and data migration project within a constrained timeframe.

Terranovate initially assisted in developing the scope and framework of the project and documented a concise and agreed deliverable. An informal best-practice scan led to a recommendation to engage a specific content expert for a senior deployment role. We then began the process of mapping the competencies and experience required for a successful implementation.

Our recommendation was built upon a skills suite that included high level CRM project management, vendor management, architecture, development, and systems testing and deployment. All the required resources were in short supply, especially given the aggressive timeframe of the project.

Sourcing both local and international talent, much of which had hands-on experience in similar implementations, Terranovate enabled the delivery of a successful project. All project performance indicators were met or exceeded.

Our client acknowledged that our experience within the retail energy market meant that our people had a full understanding of the challenges within this sector in implementing large-scale business transformation projects. This experience enabled us to identify, source and deliver personnel with the skills and ability to deliver high value results in changing environments.

Our client also acknowledged that shared objectives, highly effective communication and an absolute commitment to the project outcome were key factors in the project’s success.
